EDUCATION

Sisters in Strength's purpose for women and children's education is to create opportunities for learning and personal growth that can significantly impact their lives and futures. The afterschool, adult literacy, and summer camps programs contribute to our mission:

Afterschool Programs

- Academic Support: Provide homework assistance and tutoring to reinforce school learning.

- Enrichment Activities: Offer extracurricular activities such as arts, sports, and STEM projects that broaden students' experiences and skills.

- Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and structured environment after school hours, promoting positive social interactions and reducing the risk of negative influences.

Adult Literacy Programs

- Basic Education: Teach reading, writing, and numeracy skills to adults, enabling them to function effectively in daily life and work.

- Economic Empowerment:  Improve job prospects and earning potential by enhancing literacy and numeracy skills, which are often prerequisites for employment and career advancement.

- Personal Development: Boost self-esteem and confidence, empowering adults to pursue further education and become role models for their children and communities.

Summer Camps

-Continuous Learning: Prevent summer learning loss by engaging children in educational activities during the break from school.

- Skill Development: Focus on developing specific skills such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving through interactive and fun activities.

- Exposure to New Experiences: Provide opportunities for children to explore new interests and talents in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

By implementing these programs, Sisters in Strength helps to create a holistic educational environment that supports the academic and personal growth of women and children, fostering a community of lifelong learners.
